(No Class April 4)

HAVERFORD COLLEGE CAMPUS, STOKES HALL

Part 2: Deepening Our Stories, Expanding Our Strength
We’re excited to continue the journey with Africa & the Diaspora: Our Stories, Our Strength – Part 2. This next 10‑week session welcomes both returning and new students to keep exploring Black history, culture, and identity in a fun, creative, and supportive environment.

This session builds on everything we started in the fall, helping students connect the themes of Genius, Justice, and Joy to their everyday lives. Through hands-on activities, group discussions, and creative projects, students will learn more about themselves, their community, and the global African diaspora.

What’s New in Part 2

  • Genius Expanded: Students will learn about today’s inventors, artists, leaders, and changemakers who are shaping the future.

  • Justice in Action: We’ll explore how young people around the world are standing up for fairness, community care, and positive change.

  • Joy as Power: Students will celebrate the music, food, art, and traditions that bring our communities together and keep our culture strong.

What Students Will Gain
Throughout the session, students will continue building important skills, including:

  • Research and critical thinking

  • Creative expression through art, writing, and multimedia

  • Public speaking and presentation

  • Teamwork and project planning

These skills help students grow as confident leaders and storytellers.

Spring Showcase: A Celebration for Families
At the end of the 10 weeks, students will share what they’ve learned in our Spring Showcase. Families and friends are invited to enjoy student-created performances, artwork, videos, and presentations. It’s a joyful celebration of student voice, creativity, and cultural pride.
